KIDS IN MOTION ETIQUETTE
1. No candy or gum chewing during class.
2. Please take time to use the restroom prior to class.
5. Class starts on time, please be dressed and ready to go.
6. Girls, keep long hair pulled up and out of the way.
7. Jewelry or hard hair accessories may not be worn during class.
8. Please show the utmost respect to your instructor; pay attention, no chatting, and be polite. Bad language or inappropriate behavior will result in temporary, and or permanent removal from class.
9. Street shoes are not allowed on the matted or carpet surfaces in the big gym.
10. Do not come onto the floor until your instructor has collected you.
11. Do not play on the staircase or in the balcony viewing area.
12. Stay off all equipment, no free play.
13. Do not touch the mirrors.
14. Help keep the facilities clean and tidy.
15. Parents please closely monitor additional children you may have with which are not participating in class. You will be held responsible for any injuries or damages they may incur.
16. Parents it is very important if you have a concern that you first speak directly to the instructor or the staff person most closely related to the issue. Try to avoid discussing it with other patrons.
17. All participants must abide by each seasons dress code. Please see the front desk for this list.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
1. If Washington School district closes for weather related issues, this will be your “alert” to call and check to see if we will be closed. Nine times out of ten if the school district is closed we will be also. However, sometimes there are exceptions. Tuition adjustments and class make-ups will not occur. You may call and listen to the recording or check the website; kids-in-motion.com. If nothing is posted, check back. We do not post closures on the tv or over the radio. There are other businesses in the St. Louis who share our name, some with the same spelling and others with varied spellings. Always check the spelling.
HOLIDAY CLOSURES
1. Easter Observance; Friday-Saturday
2. Labor Day & Memorial Day Weekend; Friday thru Monday
3. Thanksgiving Holiday; Thursday thru Saturday
4. 4 of July *if it falls on a weekend, we will be closed the week prior. If it falls on a weekday we will be closed the day before and the remainder of the week after the 4.
5. Winter Break; December 22 thru January 3
6. Halloween Day
7. Summer Break; the entire month of August.
TUITION AND ATTENDANCE POLICIES
Performance Fee’s
Gymnastics, cheerleading, and tumbling classes will participate in our annual Mini-Olympics. This event is held in either May or June of each year. Participation is not mandatory, however strongly encouraged. The event will cost a minimal trophy and facility usage fee. There is the option of a special leotard.
Returned Check Fee
Returned checks will be charged a $25 svc. fee.
Tuition Refund Policy
Once the month or session has begun, you may not be refunded. This is regardless of attendance.
Extended Absences
If you are planning to take a leave of absence, the front desk must be notified two weeks in advance in order to avoid billing. If you fail to do so, you will be billed a $25 drop fee. Payment will be required prior to returning to class. This does not apply to summer or adult classes, and extended absences with a medical or family emergency excuse.
Required Consultation
All special needs students are required to have a one on one consultation prior to enrolling in or attending a free trial in any class. Please call for an appointment.
Free Trial Classes
Kids In Motion welcomes any perspective student to try a class, in any sport, for free one time. EXCEPTION: Free Trials are not offered for programs run by the session, clinics, camps, one day programs.
Drop-In Rates
Kids in Motion allows participants in a select few programs to temporarily register as a drop-in fee student. This is not offered for all programs or classes, and availability is never guaranteed. Those who register for drop-in status will be held to it, even if their total drop-in fee’s exceeds the regular monthly tuition. Fee’s are as follows;
45min. class=$9.50, 1hr=$11, 1.25hr=$13, 1.5hr=$15, 2hr=$17.50
Scripts Policy
Those paying tuition with Scripts will not receive any tuition discounts offered by Kids In Motion. They will receive their discount from the school where the Script was purchased.
Absences & Make-up Classes
1. Make-up classes are not guaranteed.
2. Tuition is to be paid in full whether you attend the entire month or not.
3. If you are planning on missing an entire month, you will need to give a 14 day advanced written notice, or you will be charged a $25 drop fee. Your class spot will not be held.
4. Instructor absence; if one of our instructors cancels class due to their absence a make-up will occur within thirty days of cancellation or an alternative class or clinic will be used.
5. You are allowed to make-up in any other class we offer which fits your age and ability for anykind of absence.
6. Make-ups are not allowed in a month you are not attending.
HOUSE RULES
GENERAL:
1. Be responsible for your trash and any spills.
2. QUITE voices are expected in the lobby or designated viewing area. Loud voices drift and disturb classes.
3. The bulletin board posted in the lobby will have important updates. Please remember to check it often.
4. Viewing is permitted in the balcony and on the floor level for those who are unable to climb the stairs. Use of the balcony for viewing is done at your own risk. Children should never be left unsupervised in the balcony area. We are not responsible for any injury sustained in our viewing areas. Keep all belongings or children off the equipment, matted, or carpeted areas and remain in the viewing area.
5. The staircase should never be used for a sitting. The blocking of the staircase is a direct violation to our cities fire code. There is no running, hopping, jumping, or playing allowed on the equipment.
6. Only students are allowed on in the gymnastics area. Please monitor siblings.
7. NO playing on the equipment before or after class.
