CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
 
Developmental: Ages Girls 5 and Boys ages 6 and under.
 
 Runners: Boys 3 and girls 2 and under. Parent participation required. This introduction to the world of gymnastics is a parent participation class where Mom/Dad assist with the implementation of the weekly lesson plan. The class is appropriately named. This age loves to run and you get to chase them.  This 30 minute class provides a great parent/child bonding experience while at the same time setting the stage for an active and healthy life style. Our quality staff members will assist the parents with the areas of emphasis as they pertain to teaching the skills, different spotting techniques so as to insure safety, gymnastics terminology and more. Don’t worry Mom/Dad we won’t make you perform any of the skills …. we leave this up to the students! Parents with more than one child need to provide a second helper or chaser as many time that is the case. These classes have a smaller ratio than the other developmental classes and do not have a teacher's assistant.     

Bouncers: Boys 4 years old. Girls 3 years old. Students will participate on floor, beam, vault, and small scale bars. The students will learn the basic fundamentals of gymnastics but also improve on their locomotor skills (hopping, skipping, jumping, running agility and coordination skills), strength, flexibility and the all important preschool social skills (sharing, teamwork, listening and following directions, problem solving, courtesy and more). Lesson plans center focus on teaching basic tumbling, trampoline, balance beam and bar skills. Mom and Dad, you just sit back and enjoy the show from our parent viewing area. These classes have a head instructor and one teacher's assistant. 


Rollers: Boys 5 years old. Girls 4 years old. Students will participate on floor, beam, vault, and small scale bars. This gymnastics class is about students forming motor-coordination, physical education program with a strong emphasis on gymnastics. Not only will your son or daughter improve their loco-motor skill development but they also will be introduced to elementary social awareness skills.
Students also get introduced to basic gymnastics skill development as well as general physical fitness skills.Many of the same gymnastics skills and concepts from previous level classes are used but enhanced, improved upon and perfected. Instructors will be working on the proper mechanics of rolling forward and backward, handstands, beginner cartwheels as well and the basic fundamentals on trampoline, bars and beam. This is all accomplished through a positive, fun, and energetic learning environment. These classes have a head instructor and one teacher's assistant.


Tumblers: Boys 6 years old. Girls 5 years old & grade KG. Students will participate on floor, beam, vault and bars. This gymnastics class is about students forming motor-coordination, physical education program with a strong emphasis on gymnastics. Not only will your son or daughter improve their loco-motor skill development (hopping, skipping, running, landing, swinging, leaping, etc) but they also will be introduced to elementary social awareness skills (sharing, taking turns, courtesy, following rules, listening and directional skills, etc).
Students also get introduced to gymnastics skill development (cartwheels, rolling, hand support skills, balancing) as well as general physical fitness skills (catching, throwing, eye hand coordination, kicking). Instructors will focus on advancing the cartwheel variations, handstands, bridges as well as advancing the skills on trampoline, bars and beam. This is all accomplished through a positive, fun, and energetic learning environment. These classes have a head instructor. 


Instructional: Girls; grades 1st grade+ and Boys; Ages 7+ min. grade 1st. 

Flips Basics: Girls ages 6+/Boys ages 7+.  An introduction to progressive gymnastics with a focus on floor skills, vault, uneven bars and balance beam/P-bars/rings. 

Flips: Co-ed. Invitational Only. Recreational. A progression from introductory gymnastics where students have mastered basic positions and skills and have learned correct terminology of the skills.  Students at this level are able to modify elements and make corrections.

Flips 1: Co-ed. Invitational Only. Recreational. Ages 6 and older. 
An advancement from beginning gymnastics for students progressing into intermediate skills.  

Flips 2: Co-ed. Recreational. Invitational Only. An advanced intermediate level class where gymnasts learn round-offs and advanced skills on the floor, and specialized skills on all other events.

Flips 3: Co-ed. Recreational. Invitational Only. An advanced level instructional class for gymnasts who have mastered intermediate skills and are focused on forward, back and aerial tumbling, challenging vaults.

 Kids in Motion has rolling enrollment. 
Your child may enroll in any class of their level at any time providing the class is running and has space available. Partial monthly start time is pro-rated.
